Senior Test engineer - Automation, OP Financial Group
BIO

I'm a Senior Test Engineer specializing in automation at OP Bank, Finland's largest financial group, currently transitioning into an Expert Test Engineer role focusing on AI & automation. My professional journey has been unique - starting in physical security before making a career change into IT and test automation. This diverse background has given me a fresh perspective on how we can approach testing challenges.

With four years of test automation expertise, particularly with Robot Framework, I've been actively exploring the intersection of AI and testing through both corporate and personal projects. This exploration has led me to develop innovative approaches to AI-assisted testing, which I now share as an instructor for AI in testing courses. Starting next year, I'll be leading the 'AI in Testing' track in our company's tech academy as a mentor.

What excites me most about AI in testing is not just the technical possibilities, but the opportunities it creates for professional growth in our field. While working in the financial sector can be restrictive with new technologies, I maintain a personal project where I can freely experiment with AI capabilities, allowing me to bridge the gap between theoretical potential and practical application in enterprise environments.

Tutorial (Advanced):

"Draw It, Don't Say It: Making AI Actually Understand Your System"

We're terrible at explaining things with words - even to ourselves. Yet we expect AI to magically understand our jumbled requirements and get angry when it doesn't read our minds. Let's flip the script. Learn how visual documentation helps AI models truly grasp your system, leading to test cases you actually want, not just what you accidentally asked for. Bring your testing challenges, leave with practical techniques to make AI your ally, not your frustration.

Main Topics:

  1. The Communication Gap

  • Why we struggle explaining systems (even to ourselves)

  • Common AI misunderstandings and hallucinations

  • The limits of text-based requirements

  1. Visual Thinking in Practice

  • System flows using Mermaid diagrams

  • State transitions that actually make sense

  • Converting user stories into visual representations

  1. Making AI Your Testing Partner

  • Combining diagrams with prompts

  • Live examples: text-only vs visual-aided results

  • Strategies for complex system testing

  1. Real-world Implementation

  • Integration into existing workflows

  • Common pitfalls and how to avoid them

  • Tools and techniques for your toolkit

Key Takeaways:

  • Practical skills to create clear visual documentation that both humans and AI can understand

  • Techniques to reduce AI hallucination in test generation

  • A toolkit of visual patterns for different testing scenarios

  • Confidence in communicating complex systems to AI models

  • Immediate, applicable methods to improve your AI-assisted testing workflow
